New Year’s Musings - 2024
So the Earth kept on turning and we find ourselves shoved (willingly or not) into January. The holiday cheer and the one time of year it feels like you are allowed to relax slowly slips out of reach to be replaced by the daily grind and the lofty aspirations and advice on how to make this your best year yet.
Now this energy, I find to be both motivating and stifling. As someone who has always dreamed big, but kept her feet in comfy shoes that feel better on the floor than in the clouds I sometimes struggle to harness this new energy without letting it overwhelm me.
To give the push towards a year of focusing on goals and crafting my life while still allowing myself to be human, my word of the year is creator.
There is something so primal that becomes aligned when we connect to our inner workings, which for me is creating. No matter what it is -> from making websites, to content, to writing, to helping others craft their brand story, or even cooking a delicious dinner — creating is what feels like power. That is why it is a cornerstone of my brand.
My advice to those out there for the new year, whether you have a business or building a personal brand, is to ask yourself “Where does my inner fire come from?” and compare that to what your brand is telling others.
If there is a mismatch - maybe its time for a brand evolution, or a new website to show off your fire.
